Software development for Lausanne

Updated: 2026-10

In short

Many Lausanne start-ups begin with a prototype built in a research lab: it proves the idea, but it was not designed to serve paying customers. We help turn it into a maintainable web product — proper data model, permissions, tests, deployment — while keeping the scientific core intact. We work in English and German, not in French.

Your region: Lausanne

Research prototypes are often written by scientists for a demonstration: scripts that work on one machine, data in files, no user management. When the first customers arrive, the team faces a choice between patching the prototype and building a product around the validated core. Usually the best route is to keep the scientific code as a component and build the product layer around it properly.

We design that product layer: user and organisation management, a data model that scales, an API around the scientific core, and deployment that the team can operate. Collaboration is in English, remote from our base in Zug, with sessions in Lausanne when useful.

How we deliver

Keep the scientific core

Wrap validated algorithms in a clean interface instead of rewriting them.

Product layer built properly

Users, organisations, permissions and billing on a maintainable stack.

Tests where it matters

Automated tests for the flows that touch customers and data.

Operable by your team

Deployment and documentation your team can run after handover.

FAQ

Do we have to rewrite our research code?

Usually not. We integrate the validated core as a component and build the product around it.

Do you work in French?

No. Collaboration, code and documentation are in English, which is the working language of most spin-off teams we work with.

Can our scientific code stay in Python?

Yes. It can run as a separate service that the web product calls through an API.
